History of Koç University

Koç University was founded in 1993 as a non-profit private university in Istanbul, Turkey. In the twenty years since its establishment, Koç University has become one of the leading universities in Turkey, distinguished by notable contributions to the elevation of education, knowledge and service both domestically and beyond.

University Governance

The principle mission of Koç University is to cultivate Turkey’s most competent graduates, well-rounded adults who are internationally qualified; who can think creatively, independently and objectively; and who are confident leaders. In 2012,364 staff members supported teaching, learning and research at KU ranging from the Office of the General Secretary, Office of the Comptroller, Human Resources, Corporate Relations and Development, Research & Project Development Directorate, Dean of Students, Construction Communications, the Library, and the Sports Center at Koç University.
