Asst. Dr. Levent Beker, Department of Mechanical Engineering, was awarded the TÜSEB Aziz Sancar Incentive Award, which is presented to outstanding scientists in the field of health science and technology in Türkiye, for his research on medical device design and development.

TÜSEB Aziz Sancar Incentive Award is given to scientists under the age of 40 who have proven that their work has the potential to make significant contributions to science at the international level.

Dr. Beker was awarded an ERC Starting Grant in 2022 for his 2ND-CHANCE project, a device to predict the risk of heart disease. Dr. Beker’s laboratory group focuses on next-generation implantable and wearable medical devices enabled by micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) and flexible sensors for health monitoring or diagnostics.
