Being a part of Koç University Clinical Psychology master program was a milestone for my education and career pathway. The research and discussion-oriented approach of the program has greatly contributed to my personal and academic development while helping me to grasp the importance of continuous inquiry, which I believe is the essence of the development of a person and society. Besides the knowledge-rich curriculum and strong and comprehensive theoretical and practical education, the supportive and guiding attitudes of the professors enable us, as their graduates, to practice our profession rightfully both in the academy and in the field. It was and will always be a precious experience to be a member of this family.
I think most of the students in my class lived off the campus because we were all master students, and I think most of the students on campus are bachelor degree students, but you can get in touch with a lot of people anyway. Of course, there were a lot of Turkish-speaking students, it's their typical master degree for Law. But it's so good because they used to live in Istanbul, so when you meet them, you can stick together and enjoy the city and experience the city like a local, which you would never have the chance of when you are not living there.
Also, we had many international students coming from other countries such as Afghanistan and Pakistan. It was great to join a community where people were talking about Law with their perspectives from different regions, not only Europe or the US. It was a remarkable experience to discuss and compare different law systems.
Being the first global health graduate in Turkey from Koç University is an honour. As a dentist and global health worker, I'm positive that having this master's from Koç will enhance my chances to get a decent job in the international global health field. On the academic level, I found the curriculum very comprehensive for the ones who want to continue to work in the field or to be a researcher. In addition, being an international student is another challenge. Being independent and learning how to face everything that may pop up suddenly is a skill that may not be underrated, you can achieve this besides your academic life day by day if you are in the right environment with the right company.
