Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) are new-generation porous materials offering great potential for energy, environment, and biomedical technologies.  MOFs are crystalline porous materials with favorable physical and chemical properties including but not limited to very high surface areas, large variety in their porosity and pore sizes. The number of MOFs and their potential applications are growing so quickly that, when novel MOF materials are synthesized, testing them for all possible applications is not practical. Studying millions of MOFs for different engineering applications by random material selection using iterative experimental testing or brute-force computational simulations is simply impossible...
