Prof. Seda Kızılel - How Would You Like Your Cell Sheet?
Imagine a thin sheet, akin to a band-aid, crafted from your cells. When applied to a damaged tissue in your body, it can repair it using your cells. These cell plates, which sound like a science-fiction product, can also be used on damaged nerve tissue with the method developed by the team consisting of Prof. Seda Kızılel and Dr. Kiyumars Jalili, PhD Students Esra Yalçın Kaya and Işılay Göktan from Koç University Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering.
Prof. Sami Gülgöz and KURAM Lab Graduate Student - Applied Cognitive Psychology
A new paper, "The Functions of Remembering the Past and Imagining the Future during the COVID-19 Pandemic," by graduate students Zeynep Adıgüzel, Demet Ay, Ezgi Bilgin, Selin Buse Coşkuner and Prof. Sami Gülgöz from Koç University Psychology Department (KURAM Lab), has been published in Applied Cognitive Psychology.
Koç University Researchers Uncover SNUPN Gene Responsible for a New Muscular Disorder
A groundbreaking study, recently published in Nature Communications, sheds light on a newly identified subtype of muscular dystrophy, revealing an unsuspected role of SNUPN gene in muscle cell function. Led by Assistant Prof. Dr. Nathalie Escande Beillard, Prof. Dr. Hülya Kayserili, and Prof. Dr. Piraye Oflazer, a team of PhD students and postdoc from Koç University Faculty of Medicine embarked on a broad investigation to decipher the genetic underpinnings of a mysterious condition identified in a case evaluated at Koç University Hospital.
