Established in 1975, AASM consists of physicians, researchers, and other healthcare professionals dedicated to promoting high-quality patient care and advancing sleep health. It stands as the sole professional society exclusively devoted to the medical subspecialty of sleep medicine.
Yüksel Peker is the first and only fellow member from Türkiye. His research concentrates on the metabolic and cardiovascular aspects of sleep apnea, investigating the impact of treatment in randomized controlled trials, and has gained significant international recognition.
