Three of Koç University’s Faculty Members were awarded the 2021 TÜBİTAK Incentive Award. We congratulate Assoc. Dr. Elif Nur Fırat Karalar and Assoc. Dr. Nurcan Tunçbağ in Health Sciences, and Assoc. Dr. Tilbe Göksun Yörük in Social Sciences and Humanities.

With these last three awards, our University increased the number of TÜBİTAK Incentive Awards to 41. We would like to thank all our Faculty Members who contributed to this important achievement.

The TÜBİTAK Encouragement Award is given to scientists under the age of 40 who have proven that they can make significant contributions to science at an international level in the future with their work.

Assoc. Dr. Elif Nur Fırat Karalar of College of Science, Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics studies the biology of the mammalian centrosome/cilium complex and rare genetic diseases in the fields of cell biology and proteomics.

Nurcan TUNÇBAĞ

Assoc. Prof. Nurcan Tunçbağ of College of Engineering, Department of Chemistry and Biological Engineering works on network medicine, trans-omics data integration, and structural bioinformatics in the field of bioinformatics and computational systems biology.

Tilbe Göksun YÖRÜK

Assoc. Prof. Tilbe Göksun Yörük of College of Social Sciences and Humanities, Department of Psychology continues her research in cognitive developmental psychology, experimental psychology, and neuropsychology fields, and on language and cognitive development, multimodal thinking and communication, and neuropsychology of language.
